Thank The Lord: Not just for who you are, but who you have (Part 1: Questions, questions, all around)

Recently, in school, I just kept picking out the
bad points of myself. For example, I look around me and think: Why am I so lousy.
Currently, I don't have these feelings and some sense has gotten into me. Hence, I decided to write this post to just share my thoughts with fellow mates out there. Facing the truth, each and everyone of us have areas where we lack at. However, don't ever forget that, we also have our
own strong points!
Let me go through a few examples of how most of us think of when we feel insecure. Following that, I will counter these negative thoughts with the positive ideas we can think of to solve/ overcome them!
1. a) I am bad at studies, no matter how much I study for it, I don't get my desired marks/ fail. I give up now, I'll just fail everything, just wash my hands off my studies.
b) It may be hard at first to think of a positive thought. Maybe, you just don't understand the subject? To solve it: you could go for extra tutoring sessions with your subject teacher/ friends.
Thank the Lord for: at least having the chance to sit in a class and have education :) Don't give up, use this chance that you have, and possibly find ways to improve your studying method/ understanding.
2. a) Why am I so unpopular? Why don't I have many friends? Why is it that I'm the only one ever trying to start the conversation?
b) Looking at the good parts of this situation, at least you have a few close friends. Without realizing, your parents, grandparents, siblings or cousins might even be your close friends whom you share secrets with. And to solve the negative thoughts: you could be more open with your feelings with your schoolmates/ classmates/ friends. Your friends might not dare to start conversations (eg on sms) as they are afraid you might find them annoying or you might ignore them. So you could instead fit in more time in your schedule for bonding with your friends. Eg, for public holidays/ school hols, arrange to meet up with them, play games at each other's house, go for a shopping spree etc ^^
Thank the Lord for: giving you your friends. Do treasure your friends, even if you think you have not so many friends, the Lord sent them to you :D
That's all for now ^^ Let's all try to be optimistic, it's not how the consequences are, but your reaction to them that matters.
XOXO,
Ally <3
